Posted by: sgrijalva May 17 2021, 07:42 AM Hello, Surfing the Internet I found this site of a German school where the boys built an opto-mechanical planetarium with a 3D printer. All the files of all the pieces are on the website and the most interesting are the optical elements, made with the lenses of led flashlights and magnifying glasses as condensers. I leave the link to the site: leogos.de/marco.nicolai/_/Planetarium/2017/index_.htmThey also have the previous pin hole type models. Greetings. Saul.

Kind of makes me feel rather insignificant with my meager efforts. I wish my translator would translate as I'd really like to read all that is there.

There is a right click window that has a translate to English but it does nothing when I push it, unless it takes a lot of time. I'll try it again and see.

I did manage to get one page to translate when I went through Yahoo...I'll never understand computers.
I di find the use of ball bearings as slip rings a very unique approach and certainly worth the experiment.

Ron, you can get the PDF file in the first page of the site. leogos.de/marco.nicolai/_/Planetarium/2017/PIC/Planetariumsprojektor_V3_2017.pdfYou can download and then copy the text and paste it into Google translator. Saul.

Posted by: Ron Walker May 17 2021, 07:32 PM OK, I was finally able to read the German one (one page at a time) but am able to understand exactly what they did. Now on to the Japanese one, only 123 pages or so.
