Well that's it for new Episodes on the podcast for now, I've had a few hits from Texas and California so I put out the last couple seasons to see if there's any interest. At least we made it past 40K, but they don't give badges between 30 and 50K, the jerks! Oh well. We've got the kid moving for good in a week or so. Whats going on here? I really thought Linda J would make a good contribution but she seems to be elsewhere. All the facebook stuff appears to be in the doldrums though. As usual thanks to Ron and Scott for the constant support!

Yes, one wonders if it's worth the time. Not quite sure who Linda J. is but I don.t think she is a member here. Last member here joined on April 25th, 2022. What is interesting is the jump in visitors when there is a post. Since I opened viewing to anyone, there has been a constant stream of visitors (15 t0 20 a day) but I have no idea who they are. With your post above (the first in about a month) the viewers jumped up to 62 in the last 24 hours. That tells me there must be a bunch of people out there that are notified if there are posts. Most things eventually enter the doldrums stage. I see two major reasons, first is that a project is finished and there is no longer anything to report on, and second, there is no feedback to post after post which is very disheartening causing one to give up. The original idea behind OCP was to get support for my idiot ideas and surprisingly generated much feedback. OC died, as you know, because of IT problems but it was losing steam anyway. Perhaps it happened at the time that most people wanted to build their own personal planetarium and that time has passed. This new BB is perhaps proof that the idea has come and gone, but I'm not so sure. I did a small thread on planetarium outreach over on "Cloudy Nights" and the response was much better then it is here.
Not sure what I can do but I will continue to support anyone out there. The problem being that with so many separate locations there are not enough hours in the day to cover them all.

Where on Cloudy Nights, that place is like a giant Ant Farm if you ask me, they wouldnt even approve me the first 8 times I applied lol.
I'm firmly now in the 'grow it without knowing it' mode like teachers, they seldom know if they did any good. That hail mary public education approach
During the HPA facebook page's 2 week off broadway run, I messaged you about a young lady that did alot of research into old planetariums at home, i tried to get her to check out new OC, but I see she never joined up. I dont want to mention any names here.
I know you swear by PARTICIPATION and have never bought my 'views are king now' opinion, but you know, views are king now lol.
Plus there is very little cross polinization between podcasts and astro forums, so I never know who is listening to the podcast either. No advertising i ever did on these forums led to anything but a momentary bump. People prefer to remain anonymous, but sometimes i wonder, can you blame them?

See, Views are King, plus all the gang is there posting away back in 2009 or whatever year it was, Moon, everybody is there. Its like the time tunnel. the Podcast is back, we were getting my son settled among other things, i really needed a week off. You had other questions, the 9 foot dome is not yet nailed down, the zeiss logo is pretty small, the beer cans were empty, we traded for them. Yes it was Linda Jacobson, I thought she'd join up. Oh well. Party on.

uraniasbroomcloset.podbean.com/the full load of podcast episodes is about 50 from being complete and can be found on Channel 2 of the podbean site at this address, I'm calling it Quintessential Fakery for some reason. Seasons are being randomized but no descriptions have yet been loaded, so most are rather anonymous. how many can YOU binge lol.

There must be some secret sauce to use to get in as I only see about ten listings.

there's a LOAD MORE link right at the bottom - the new templates are like this, I couldn't make Channel 2 look like that first channel. The seasons 1-182 are as intact as possible but are largely undocumented anyway, I listed them randomly because I was bored lol. You can search a given season by entering say 4-9 in the TOP CENTER magnifying glass - NOT the one over on the left where it says podcasts, that takes you back out into their podcast library. This is mainly for binging rando episodes like people like to do now. Nobody looks up subjects these days, they randomly stream entertainment! At least that's what I've heard. Its really also for my use too, as I can reference a given episode anywhere like I did now on the HPA facebook boards, in greatest hits fashion. Podcasts are mainly listened to while doing something else, they are more backgroundy these days, put it on auto play and let those 1662 episodes fly! Its a totally different model really. As Urania would say, you know?

I must be really old fashioned as I like some kind of index so I can find what I'm looking for (if I'm looking for something that is).

You are an archivist and a clearing house, so that's perfectly understandable! I on the other hand am more of a hack entertainer lol
Well my full load is as done as its going to get, i'm ready to drop from exhaustion. anything else on my computers can just go in the slush fund. I think i got all the original seasons pretty much, which came out to 1944 in total.

1944 just doesn't cut it in the great cosmic ocean. You must get to 2001 then end it.
