THIS THING IS AWESOME! ohmy.gif
Its probably the best SPFX projector that I have now!
If i put it at just the right height, it projects the laser stars on the whole of my dome!!!! I wish there was some way to separate the cloud projector and the laser stars projector so that I could control them separately or at least turn off the laser while leaving the cloud on.
Ron?

Actually I want that as well. I will come up with a wiring diagram as to where to connect a switch to turn off the green laser and post it.

Ron? -Adam I went to Las Vegas this past weekend an went to Sharper Image and finally bought one of these projectors. I agree, it is one of the most fascinating aux projectors I have ever seen. A job well done! Owen Planetarium Projector Museum www.pictorialism.com

Posted by: Hamon Dec 17 2009, 12:44 AM I was thinking and wanted to ask do you think its possible to change the led lights ? like change the colors of them and maybe turn the green laser into a white laser to project actual white stars .

You could probably change the LED's but that would only change the color of the cloud. I'm not at all sure if there is any such thing as a "white" laser. I've seen red, blue, and green ones, but that's all. I don't think filters would help much either as the laser has such a small spectrum. The projection is such that it is useless for representing our night sky, but one could perhaps call it a night sky if you lived in a star cluster.

Posted by: Ron Walker Dec 17 2015, 12:20 PM While I have used this projector for its star forming cloud, I have never really used the green laser stars for anything. Until now. I did place a small piece of black electrical tape to cover up the projection of the very center, extremely bright, box of four green dots, as they are very distracting of the entire projection. Also the blue cloud does a really great job of filling in the hole created by the tape.
This is now used for the background projection of the laser shows and the between shows projection on the dome. It is bright enough to be seen with the planetarium entry lights on full so it kind of gets people in the "laser mode" while waiting for the show.
It is great to get full use out of this projector.
