Zeiss? ?? You're getting a Zeiss? ?? You're certainly not buying a Zoo.

Zeiss? ?? You're getting a Zeiss? ?? You're certainly not buying a Zoo. If the Duke gets a Zeiss, he will have TWO monsters of the midway. That automatically makes him a museum in my book!

It is a little Zeiss ZKP1! The main mount is missing as is the control panel and pretty much anything external to the main body of the projector. There are no planet projectors. It was for sale at a beautiful antique shop in London has been mounted effectively as an ornament - so I feel that although it was not scooped out of a skip/dumpster this will still count as a rescue if I can get it running in a dome. I am about to disappear for a week. I update/ post the full story when I pick it up.

Fantastic...better they show up in antique shops rather then land fills. The story of how it wound up there should be interesting. It is for sure a rescue right now. Isn't it interesting how things we never thought we would ever have start to collect.
If the official title of "museum" is bestowed with the collection of two or more projectors, then we are all museums.

(that will make no sense if you didnt hear the creation myth episodes) . i think its about dreams coming true. i think RW, your dreams came true with your backyard Bob and the original OC. I think my dreams came true with HPA, my backyard stuff, and my more recent book run. Now the Duke's dreams are coming true with the Big Z! I tried to help Linda J on her way by sending her my publishing book so she can write her own, i THINK its a dream of hers. I hope so any way and then all we all eventually dodder off into the sunset.

I finally spared an hour for the half backed plan. Not sure if I mentioned that I ran out of dental stone so finished with cement. Here it is with the edge formers removed

It released quite well from the mold. The surface is a good curve but has a few surface wrinkles as I put a layer of cling film down to stop it sticking. The cracks and wrinkles should easily be filled in with a skim of filler.

Here is a picture of the empty mould, casting and a cardboard template of one of the dome hexagons. The casting needs to be a little bit bigger so I have shifted it a little on the mould and added some more cement (no picture I am afraid).

A permanent planetarium location perhaps? ? Hi Ron and Sir Gare, the very first stirrings of the Cornwall version of 'the Dream is Alive' might just be developing. We are trying to move house to somewhere with a bigger garden. Partly because Emma wants to stop driving to the allotments for her gardening but also big enough perhaps for a modest round structure. We have had an offer accepted on our house and our offer accepted on the one we want to buy - which is a really significant step forward BUT house buying in England is needlessly tortuous, complicated and expensive and prone to ending in bitter defeat. It is sometimes said to be the third most stressful thing you can do after death and divorce. Even if the plan goes ahead there will be a lot of hurdles (negotiation with Cornwall Council and the far more powerful very Local Authority) but you have to take the first step. Incidentally, when we were looking around different houses the estate agent commented that I was the only customer she knew who would insist on climbing up into the attic! I have the echoes of episode 409 ringing in my ears.

Strange how things work out. Kind of sounds like an HOA over here. I wish you luck.
