Hey there...
I typically use a Stinger (grain-of-wheat style) incandescent bulb for the star light source. A plan of mine is to run the projector for perhaps 2 hrs at a time for a night time ambience sort of environment. For that application, I'm going to put in a 2nd backup bulb somewhat adjacent to the "main bulb" that will automatically switch in when high resistance (burn out) is detected. An acquaintance of mine has designed a circuit for this that will operate from the bulb power source. I'll be sending out to have the circuit laid out onto a circuit board. If anyone is interested in this, I'll put in an order for multiple boards, which will reduce the per-board cost. Let me know.
As soon as I see how to attach a file, I'll post the circuit design (or can send it to your personal email. Again, this ckt is designed to operate at the Stingers voltage.

To add an attachment to a post, press the "Reply" button in the upper right blue line. It will open a bunch of things but you want the "Add Attachment" button in the upper right once again. This will open a box and allow you to add a picture or other attachment as long as it is under 1MB in size. If you have a problem, email it to me and I will get it posted.
