Do we want to maintain this facebook page, or should I see if I can delete it?

Hi Ken, I thought you were a member here since it started...anyway, welcome.
The whole idea of this forum and going way back to its humble beginnings way back in 2006 was to have a clearinghouse for all information for those involved in this hobby. That still holds true today. Perhaps its day has come and gone as it appears most people really involved have gone off on their own sites. This is well and good. The more sites, the easier it is for a newcomer to feel not alone in this strange hobby. My hope was that anyone generating a planetarium hobby site would generate a copy of that information here so anyone interested could find all the info in one place.
I would not delete as first of all it has more members then my feeble attempt at resurrection and second, the more the merrier. As long as it doesn't cost anything, what can it hurt.

Good grief I don't remember this, but I must have posted a few there myself. So I see that Ken was admin there, those are some great pictures, glad you are leaving this out there. Ken's full of surprises! Now you Ron have that facebook board too right, that one ended with Scotts Cake or something. And who had the Planetarium Operators board. this is just like early home made projectors, there were more than we think, but they were islands floating around till they centralized on OC in the aughts or so, although as Linda Jacobson found, there were at least half a dozen more that none of us ever heard about.

Can you list here the ones that Linda found?

Sure, here's the blurb in my Encylopedia on linda's finds ----------------------------------------------------------------- Other pioneers were out there as well - only recently several very early examples were discovered by Linda Jacobson, a planetarium researcher and professional based in Florida. There was a Mr David Phillips from Miami who had a truck in the 30’s with a projector mounted on its side , and Mr David Levine in the UK (source, Scott Tucker for this one), who actually built a home projector out of a cistern ball back in the 50’s. Linda also uncovered a Dr HP Nicholls of San Bernardino CA (48), a F. Richard Bolster of Forestville CT (50), A.L. Bedell of St Louis MO (52), Harrison Sarrafian of Dallas TX (53), Victor Schmidt of Baltimore MD (56), Jim Moran of New York City (58), and Rev Frank Rose of Lakeland FL (61), all of whom built and operated home planetariums. ----------------------------------------------------------------
That AL Bedell set up his at Scott AFB, Lebanon IL, where my dad's dad worked back then, so there's a possibility that he even saw it. We visited his grave on our way up to Grinnell and will do so again soon. my dad's from that small town, but he met my mom in her home town of nearby Edwardsville, because they had heard Edwardsville girls were wild lol.

You are becoming more of a Facebook impressario than ever before I see, welcoming new members, lining up speakers, giving weather updates, I like your increased presence on your own FB page! Can't hurt eh?

Just to keep interest going. I usually get about 1/3 of the membership reading all of my posts.

Not everyone appreciates my "folksy charm". Well I've noticed it promptly ended on that board lol. You even moved your weather reports to your monthly email.

One can always talk about the weather. Anyway, it keeps some people reading it.
We have reached the ides of June and it is so far the coolest one ever recorded. Like cloudy skies when you but a telescope, I get the cool weather (not that I'm complaining, mind you) just after I get the pool back into operation after several years of emptiness.
Next I will start on the Walker fire department after I get the rat nests off of the van engine.
