So here is the shelter and 'stuck in the mud Zeiss' that was the subject of the farce podcast's recent thread. Last month I was making the evening rounds out in the woods when I discovered, to my horror, a man INSIDE the shelter with a pile of stuff he was lifting just outside. I've now put up this sign, along with other similar signs at each way into my farm (4 acre woods), except for the creek itself. They've built a subdivision behind me that ends right where my east property line is, and the inevitable visitations have begun by roaming people, mostly kids. The guy I caught SAID he thought it was an abandoned homeless encampment, which unfortunately it DOES tend to resemble. He was very apologetic, awkwardly put back the pile of stuff (i was still recovering from the shock of finding someone in what had been my private domain for many many years), shook my hand twice, and left without incident. I DID tell him the junkyard neighbors next door might have shot first and asked questions later, just for effect, although its true, these are the people that ended my band in the barn when they called the cops on us. I've also had run-ins with them about their dog, the main guy over there once told me if I found his dog in my driveway, I should just shoot the dog. Ah life in the country. Its been quiet since last month's incident. Most people do respond to courtesy and signs luckily, at least that's been my experience, as the demographics around us slowly change. As for Polly's 'Zeiss', I HAVE been adding to it lol

I can't imagine a subdivision built right up to my property line. That would drive me nuts.

The red arrow is the road and house, the cul de sac in the new sub behind us now has 4 houses around it, but luckily its kiddy corner and not RIGHT behind us, that land runs down to the creek and was spared for water control a guy told me.

On which side are the nasty neighbors? Left side. half way down, you can see their junk yard. It was heartbraking to see them tow all those junker cars in there and they used to grind metal constantly, but its gotten quieter in recent years, except for their obsessive mowing. To the left are two 10 acre parcels, we are in the original parcel which was about 4 acres, but then the back of the parcel to the right of us was bandied back and forth by the previous owners of our house and wound up in our hands, which was critical so we own both sides of the creek. The first day we moved in they came over and wanted to know if we'd sell it back to them, no way! Then it was just pasture. I grew the woods. That back property line goes back to the original Revolutionary War grants, and featured a stone wall along it, which is where my 'low place' was, its in good shape on the original lot 1 side, but pretty much fallen apart on the back of the rest.
