I am of course fighting inside with meself. the voice saying.. SELLOUT .. DUMBING DOWN .. thats what commercials are doing!
On the otherhand.. is there a bad star? I dont know folks. But if i find a guy in vegas with the big dipper in his hubcaps .. can i diss him .. really? gare

One of my new years resolutions is to build planetariums! It seems that after some introspection, my Home activities have come down to sortof like this
1. working on infrastructure (visitor center, dome, exhibits) 25 percent
2. networking, newsletters, OC, website development, research, preservation 50 percent
3. special effects projectors (aurora, constellations) 20 percent
4. actually building projectors/domes 5 percent or less!
And I think bigger doesnt have to be better. Why not build small ones and sell or even give them away?
And I called it a planetarium.. if it teaches, inspires, even makes someone smile ... then it is! gare

My new years resolution is to get one planetarium and one observatory built and operating. If I can get that far I'll be very happy. The rest will have to wait for future years or else nothing will ever get done. blink.gif

Oddly, since I now have the newspaper search thing, I pulled up TWO Charles Jones who built planetariums, either of which I dont think can be confused with the magician Australian Charles Jones we knew on old OC, one was in 1960 California, and one was in 1980 Owensburough Kentucky. I'm collecting documentation and will add these two also to my master list. Can you share so we can read the articles as well? |

Like I said, I doubt you would ever come out here, as you have the same problem I have, "age", which does tend to limit what we can and can't do.
