Posted by: Ron Walker Jun 10 2008, 06:00 PM I've noted in S&T and other places that 2009 is special for both observatory types and planetarians as well. (It really doesn't help being both but I'll try and get everything up and working.) Anyone out there have any special plans for this?

I still have much work before the collection is available to exhibit... but maybe. For me, al least, the "Year of Astronomy" comes one year too early. The sad part is that Saturns' rings next year will hardly be visible. I think I read somewhere that there is not a better planet or introduction to astronomy than letting beginners see Saturn for themselves through a telescope for the first time. Oh well, I guess the moon is always a good second choice.... Owen

That could be somewhat disappointing. I need to look now, not at all sure if I'll be around for the nest time.

This stuff is over a decade old. Never updated or repeated.
