From: "Steven LJ Russo"
I was searching through a box of old planetarium stuff, and came across an old MAPS NEWSLETTER (Pre-Constellation) from May of 1968.
There are some interesting names in that Newsletter:
Dr. Harry E. Crull, Norm Dean, Russell Blake, Mark Levine, George Lovi, Jack Gross, and an interesting photo of Jeff Smith and Jeannie Bishop in front of a blackboard.
The MAPS treasury had $333.38 in it !

Are there a lot of old star projectors that come up for sale? I'm fascinated with the idea of getting one. There are a couple smaller planetariums here in Sharjah that may or may not stay open, and the planetarium at Children's City in Dubai that opened in 2001 with a Spitz 1024 has already upgraded to a digital system, so their star projector is in storage, but it's property of the city/emirate of Dubai and not currently for sale. Anyway, it would probably be hard to get anything like that out of the country and into the U.S.

Posted by: Ron Walker May 10 2016, 03:20 PM Had a visit today from Brian DeWelles. Turns out he was a member of HPA at the dawn of time. I did find him on the member list from the mid 90's. He heard about what I build and wanted to see it. I think he enjoyed it.

I don't think I remember this visit, unless he was the fellow from the great lakes planetarium group. I can't remember names of anyone anymore.
