Never before seen! Exclusive to the Old Codger I mean Observatory Central I mean Our Cosmos BB! Here's the new metal planetarium sculpture, entitled 'Quintessential Fakery'. Im including B&W versions because you know. Taken with a cheesy clip on fisheye-ish lense because I'm high tech see Attachments:

It appears to be rusting away. Didn't you just get that.
Would love to see your new planetarium area as well as a time exposure of the projected sky.

Urania calls it a planetarium, I'm calling it more of a multi-purpose room, a place to put all my remaining sound stuff from the barn, which is now almost stripped. So it can fall down when it wants to. it will have a small stage with star screen behind it. I never liked the 9 foot geodesic thing as a dome, but love it as outside sculpture. Thats a bad angle in the picture, i'll post more of that, its my final 'mock up' as i call it. the location came about very randomly as you will see. but its budget ZERO. ALL reused materials. as Hercule Poirot might say, man who leave ONE THING out in the rain not necessarily leave OTHER things in the rain!
as Urania said, Gare is telling STORY of this, so I'm taking it extra slowwwwww, dribbling out pictures one at a time. lingering over them. besides, since everything is recycled, everything has a history which can be recounted, traced, lovingly. this thread will mosey, not sprint.
you buy any of that? lol

Its just a simple tarp covered building, you can ignore my predictable dramatics. I added roof felt, then a thick tarp, with a skylight on top of some metal roofing I had left over, this is perched on an old gate. The walls are the former roof of our garden shed, I could only 'walk' them so far, so I ended up on the path to the clearing Ive mentioned in some of the episodes. Inside you can see the small stage with screen behind, i'll just use the homestar to project on that when its done. I had to stretch a BUNCH of extension cords to get power out there, it survived 2 big storms last night with very little leakage so thats encouraging. Never mind Urania in her last post, it will be a multi functional shed! I was just using up left over materials. Attachments:

I spent yesterday with roofing or trying to roof the 'corners' in the oblong building, no easy task using all recycled parts. I see now at 4 AM its raining so soon will go out there and see what happens.

And so I'll close out this thread with one final picture, the whole reason I chose this area to build my small little multi purpose building and my sculpture back here - this view of my woods from my little clearing. I try to sit and gaze into the woods at various times of day and night. You just never know what you might see, though it may not be from the light of that recent pink moon we had. But sometimes in the dark I think I see faint lights, and hear dim horns. THAT reminds me of a verse I have on the wall here, that goes something like the king of fairie with his rout went hunting in the woods about but nary a beast they took nor slew and where they went, I never knew! There is a peacefulness to a forest with a bubbling brook running through it, and you appear to have enough rain to sustain it. Our last rain was March 29th and the total for this year has been 1.12 inches. You probably get that in a weekend. While the desert offers a different kind of beauty and serenity. In the desert's pail moonlight, The mighty Saguaro glistens bright. Telling stories of its might, From raging storms to crisp cold nights. Yet it stands in all its height, To prove to us it's not so small, The desert's not really dry at all.

Are you saving your poetry for your grandkids!
I had to add a tarp today it rained so hard, the skylight is now covered. The analog collection is now in there.
