Posted by: Ron Walker Jan 20 2016, 09:59 AM What ever happened to that astronomy club? Get back with them. How about they have a meeting at the planetarium.
How about a follow up to the home school group.
A sign on the road that says, "Planetarium shows this Saturday at 7 pm tonight. Limited seating".

a sign in our front yard would have to blend in with the historic house vibe though, something metal and ornate. i have to figure out what to call the house first. it was built and occupied for half a century by a family called Thomasson.. I've gone with Thomasson Homeplace so far but I only have a plaque. An ornate 'planetarium' sign would probably be low information, but it has to be big enough to be read from the road, and its a pretty huge front yard.
so i was thinking maybe something like this, with something hanging below it saying 'planetarium'

It's always "out of sight, out of mind". That is why I do the email thing as it keeps the star barn as a reminder message every month.

Need more detailed information. What by what road? Which neighbor, in what direction, for the big white square? Actually I am more north of Scottsdale then Phoenix. Thirty or so miles from the downtown area and about forty miles from the airport.

looking down at your lot, there was something big and white but flat to the LEFT in another yard. then there looked like objects down at the end of your driveway, i thought they might be trash cans. then i zoomed out till it said PHOENIX in the big town, and you were in the upper right hand corner of the screen, did i misread that?

Posted by: mrgare5050 Sep 9 2018, 06:36 AM Putting this in the advertising folder, but its more along the lines of old school free advertising vs. more modern online facebook etc publicity. To recap there are free newspapers, magazines published in most states/cities if you can find them, but to get the maximum bang you can list EVENTS at your planetarium, which of course gets the whole job done. Its sort of like having the grand opening that never ends, having 'breaking news' in the midst of regular news etc. Heres another one I discovered yesterday in the lobby of an antique mall

Posted by: Ron Walker Sep 9 2018, 12:52 PM Yes, there is a community events section in both the local newspapers. One of then is just ad's for companies that buy ad space in the paper. The other is for community events. Might be worth a look if this other magazine doesn't pan out.

I want to make sure I only run one at a time so I dont have to ask people where they saw it, that was one mistake i made with all those bulletin boards. Getting into the entire Nashville Metro area will add considerable travel time for people, although I have no idea where these new show people are coming from either. One good thing, nobody needs directions anymore!
